LET US TELL YOU ABOUT HOMESTUCK.
What else could it be, besides a bunch of kids stuck in their homes?
Sweet Bro and Hella Jeff?
“PPPPHHHHBBBB” I say to you. Homestuck consists of 4 main “humans” and 12 main “trolls” as well as what seems like a million other characters all in one scrambled egg situation. Originally anticipating the release of SBURB, a computer game, they realize that the game takes them into another world, and the four kids traverse their assigned lands. Often they are trolled by what they believe are basic internet trolls, but indeed are actually an alien-insect ish race from another planet who too, have a game like SBURB called Hivebent. First the trolls insults and make fun of the humans, but eventually they must work together to beat the game to for the greater good of the trolls and humans.

Oh yeah, and it may not have weird puzzle stuff like Problem Sleuth, but it has the new and improved “weird plot stuff!”. gog it’s so difficult to understand sometimes...
If you like reading complex and long webcomics, welcome to Homestuck my friend!
I (GG) warn you though! Homestuck is very addictive, so enjoy controllably!

Homestuck has a lot of things going for it. Awesome art and animation and music, funny jokes, lovable characters, a daily update schedule of several pages a day...what's not to like?
Homestuck has a lot of things going for it. Awesome art and animation and music, funny jokes, lovable characters, a daily update schedule of several pages a day...what's not to like?
The story is very extensive, currently spanning five acts (a sixth in progress) and over 4000 pages. At first the story mainly focuses on four children playing a game called SBURB (that happens to be linked to the end of the world). Despite the website being titled "MS Paint Adventures", all the webcomics (save for the very first picture of Jailbreak, which actually is drawn in Paint) are created in Photoshop, while many of the longer Homestuck animations are done in Flash.
I will tell you, once you start reading Homestuck (and get past Act One), you will quickly become addicted to the engaging story, which as mentioned above, quickly becomes very, very complex, with all sorts of time loops and planets and alchemy and apparently chess? Anyway, I guarantee you that if you take the time to archive binge Homestuck, you will not be disappointed. Not to mention the fact that its fanbase is pretty awesome too.
Personally, I don't see Homestuck so much as a "webcomic" in that it isn't exactly told in comic strips. It's more like "pictures and then dialogue" (you'll see what I mean).
I can't tell you guys too much without ruining too much of the plot, so I'll just leave it at that. Homestuck isn't just a webcomic: it's an experience.

ME GUSTA: Minecraft
Fan art by Jonin600
What happens when you mix three extremely dangerous jobs like ore mining, construction, and zombie hunting? That's right guys, this blog post will be about Minecraft. This game has gained much popularity over the past year and the final version was officially released sometime early November (don't feel like searching the release date). If you've never played before, the object of them game is embedded deeply into the title, so deeply that you must have a degree in cryptography to decipher its message, but even then many scholars fail to understand the full meaning of its concept, sarcasm. The player must mine, craft, repeat. Seems simple enough, but this simple concept has a very addicting sense to it. As a gamer, ever since they still sold Game Boys at Best Buy, I had always dreamed of that one game that was to rule them all. That one game that had the longest story line and takes forever to beat and is hard to master. Apparently Minecraft fits none of these characteristics since it doesn't technically have a story line and therefore cannot be beaten and is relatively easy to play. However, it still is very addictive (just ask me). Forums

Aztec Rave Monkey

Aztec Rave Monkey © Kikiyama, Image from yumenikki.wikia.com |
Whoa! What is this seizure inducing graphic image?!
It's the, as dubbed by the fan community, "Aztec Rave Monkey" from the 32 bit freeware computer game Yume Nikki !
One may ask, but what is Yume Nikki? Why do I care that a game has this image in it? WHY CAN'T I STOP STARING AT THIS .GIF?! WHAT DOES IT ALL MEAN?
If you couldn't deduce yourself, Yume Nikki is not simply just an infinite loop of this graphic, it is a Japanese computer game made by the mysterious one man creator "Kikiyama" about dreams (Thus the crazy image, it is like something that is indescribable or enigmatic that one might have appear in their dreams). Filled with graphic images and confusing areas, Yume Nikki has gathered a solid and loyal quiet fanbase.
Such crazy events in the game lead to much speculation, thus a perfect opening for a story is born, right? Yes. After extensive interviewing and playing of the actual game, I have concluded and brought together many a speculation and have posted it as my feature story!
If you're not already intrigued (who isn't?) I have supplied you with a snippet of the story below:
"'[Madotsuki] may not be the character's true name,' the Yume Nikki wiki speculates, 'It could be thought of as being more a description of the character as the player's window into the dream world rather than a literal name. It could also be a way to preserve the game's theme of loneliness by giving the character a functional, dehumanizing name, rather than a personal name.'"
Now all you'll have to do is hold on to your seat and wait in anticipation for our magazine!

Ponies, Ponies Everywhere

Alt Title: SUPER ULTRA SNEAK PEEK SPESHUL EDITION
So by now I'm sure you've all heard of the My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic sensation sweeping the World Wide Web. Of the flamewars of epic proportions. Of the invasion of 4chan. Of the legions of bronies loving and tolerating the heck out of everyone.
Well, don't you wish you knew more about how this cute and cuddly show became ultra-super-popular practically overnight? Don't you wish you knew more about what really goes on in the mind of a brony? OF COURSE YOU DO WHY DIDN'T YOU SAY SO BEFORE
That's why your very own Click Magazine is going to be reporting on the issue in the very next...er...issue! Be astounded by the tales of ponies! Be amazed at the history of the show! Be starstruck by the magic of friendship! And a bunch of other things! Yeah! Exclamation marks are fun!
So while I was writing the article, I even took the liberty of watching a bunch of MLP:FiM episodes over the weekend, just for you guys! Juuuuuuuuust for you guys. After all, a writer needs to think of their readers, right? :D
But yeah! If you want to know anything, anywhere, at all about this pony phenomenon, comment below and I'll try to write it into my article. Readers first, after all. Also, if you are in the acquaintance of anypony...i mean, anyone who either likes the show, hates the show, has experience with the show, etc. etc., please let me know as well! Thank you all for your help. May the magic of friendship be with you!

Don't you want to be the very best...

Alt Title: Webcomics that I read and you should blah blah blah
And today we bring you Mokepon, a webcomic about Pokemon.
...Wait, where are you going? Stick with me here, it gets better.
Mokepon deviates from the cutesy, kiddy, 10-year-old nature of Pokemon and creates a story around Atticus, a teenager who really should be too young to smoke gets kicked out by his mother to start on his GRAND POKEYMAN ADVENCHURE; and his sad, abused Charmander, Dragonthing. Atticus clearly knows less about Pokemon battling than a frog does about nuclear physics, rolling by his own tempo through the "game". And by "his own tempo", I usually mean "yelling at Dragonthing until it does something". How will such an ignorant young man succeed on his Pokemon adventure?
...Yeah, I don't know either.
The art is kind of fantastic, and Dragonthing is nothing short of adorable. Though people who haven't played the Pokemon games may not understand some of the references, I would recommend this webcomic to all. Except small children. Atticus isn't exactly the best role model. (Plus the comic may contain some harsh language, though sparing.)
Though previously in black and white, I believe some of the earlier comics have started to be colored. The author draws in a manga-inspired style, though not exactly manga itself. Mechanics of the Pokemon games are taken and expanded upon, from the battling style to generation-exclusive moves.
So what are you waiting for? Gotta catch 'em all!

Sweet Bro and Hella Jeff © Andrew Hussie |
It's Sweet Bro and Hella Jeff!
Sweet Bro and Hella Jeff is the webcomic made by a character from another webcomic.
It's a webcomic inside a webcomic!
SBaHJ © Andrew Hussie |
Sweet Bro and Hella Jeff stars Sweet Bro and Hella Jeff, if that wasn't already apparent. Sweet Bro is the one in blue and Hella Jeff in red. There really isn't a plot to Sweet Bro and Hella Jeff, it's really just Sweet Bro and Hella Jeff's random adventures, and depicting their in capabilities, like hugging, using rulers, walking down stairs, putting on socks, putting spoons into drawers, and easily getting distracted. It's a cut and paste comic, and a bad one at that. But that's the point. According to Andrew Hussie, (the actual creator, here's a picture of what he looks like, and here's an interview with him.) it's actually hard to get that "graphical s***tacularity " since MS Paint isnt' that low-quality, and even photoshop on the lowest quality setting can't make it that bad. He posted on his formspring how to attain this level of quality, but since then he's deactivated it. Also, to add on to the absolute quality of the webcomic is all of the misspellings. There are so many, I just wouldn't want to have to count the total.

YO DAWG, I HEARD YOU LIKE GRADING BLOG POSTS

And finally, I turn in my fourth blog entry. Late... So anyways This one is going to be about a recent meme that sprung up on the Internet titled "YO DAWG". It features xzibit, the host for the MTV show Pimp My Ride, smiling with white text on the top and bottom of the picture.
Since Pimp My Ride focuses on fixing people's cars up and often adding small things to the car to increase it's appeal, such as adding large sound systems or neon lights. They ask the owner about his/her likes or tastes on their car and start building based on that. When they team introduces the car to the owner, they usually give the owner an explanation of the things that they improved about the car. Then, xzibit says something like, "Yo Dawg, I heard you like X, so I put an X in the X so you can Y while you Y" (X correlates to Y somehow), and thus the meme was born.

Toads
They say that two people posting about webcomics on the same blog at the same time is a sign of poor performance.
I say screw them.
Alt Title: Webcomics that I read and you should too, part II
So today's comic is the Mario-centered webcomic, Mushroom Go. Focusing on the adventures of a crew of sand pirates and a Toad named Go, the author takes his own unique spin on the Mario universe, and is worth reading even if you don't know much about the game.
The comic begins with Go waking up in a desert. He's found by a gang of pirates shortly after: The Koopa captain Sasha Martello, along with Palma the pinata, Guy the Shy Guy and McCoy the crow. Many wacky shenanigans follow.
The comic has already gathered a decently sized fanbase. Recently, the comic's art shift (brought on by the author commissioning another artist to do the art for the comics) caused such an uproar you can't even begin to even. The controversy has mostly died down by now, but now and then a troll or something will bring it up.
To be honest, I'd say that this comic's worst flaw is the updating schedule. The comic updates every Saturday, but with only approximately four panels a week. Which is fine and all, but it seems too sporadic now that two people are working on it.
But you should totally go read it because it is awesome and things. At least go check it out. Besides, look at those adorable pink Bob-ombs! Don't you just love 'em?
Next webcomic post may or may not be interrupted by a post about Homestuck.

A Girl and Her Raccoon
Another webcomic that I have really been into reading for a while now is Sandra and Woo illustrated by Puri Andini and written by Oliver Knörzer. The webcomic is centered around the young 11 year old Sandra North and her pet raccoon, Woo. The webcomic documents the adventures of Sandra, Woo, Sandra's love interest Cloud, and Sandra's friend Larisa.
One thing I really like about Sandra and Woo is that unlike other webcomics (although it may just be my own fault that I don't find other innocent comics), this one is very clean and pure. It's very cute too!
Sandra and Woo has recently hired a Colorist, Lisa Moore, who is now coloring all comics and working through old archives to color old strips.
Sandra and Woo has this sort of very simple and innocent humor, which personally I like. It's a nice break from the seriousness of school and real life; Sandra and Woo takes me back into my elementary school years when you weren't assigned homework and life was simple. Although I say this, I presume that Sandra, Cloud, and Larisa are attending middle school, as Larisa has troubles in Geometry. Aside from the reminder of school work, the mood of the comic is very light and free.

ASCII
Hey guys! Late blog post but it's here. Anyways I wanted to talk about what most people know as emoticons. This would be stuff like happy face : ), winking face ; ), sad face : (, sticking tongue out face, angry face > : O, cool face B ), or the annoying "shaking my head" face -__-. But what I am going to talk about takes this to the next level. Yup, ASCII is a picture written in text. Unfortunately blogger doesn't let me post one without it looking like total crap, so here is a link to a familiar character. This is made using different characters that are spaced out to create an image.
"It _is_ a long tail, certainly," said Alice, looking down with wonder at the Mouse's tail; "but why do you call it sad?" And she kept on puzzling about it while the Mouse was speaking, so that her idea of the tale was something like this:----"Fury said to a mouse, That he met in the house, `Let us both go to law: _I_ will prose- cute _you_.-- Come, I'll take no de- nial: We must have the trial; For really this morn- ing I've nothing to do.' Said the mouse to the cur, `Such a trial, dear sir. With no jury or judge, would be wast- ing our breath.' `I'll be judge, I'll be jury,' said cun- ning old Fury: `I'll try the whole cause, and con- demn you to death'."
Here is an example from the original book of Alice in Wonderland. It is one of the earliest forms ASCII, but it was made just two years before the typewriter was invented. (>'')>
DINOSAUR LASER FIGHT

Alt Title: Webcomics that I read and you should too, part I.
I'm sure you all have heard of what a webcomic is. For those of you who don't, goodness stop living under a rock. It's awful uncomfy under there.
A webcomic is a comic posted online in regular intervals, such as xkcd or Awkward Zombie. But the purpose of these posts are to show you all some of the more obscure webcomics that are not as famous but still pretty cool.
First up is "Uh-oh, it's a Dinosaur", which can be found over at Full Time Ink.com along with "Phil Likes Tacos" and a completed webcomic, "95 Gallons". "Dinosaur" updates every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and follows story arcs rather than just posting unrelated comics. It also contains lots and lots of silly faces. Everyone loves silly faces. And dinosaurs from laboratories! ...Oops, was that a spoiler? Sorry.
PLT, on the other hand, updates daily (Daily!) mostly with unrelated comics and funny, although it does have it's fair share of story arcs as well. Following the adventures of Phil, his roommate Doug, and his girlfriend Millie, the author draws his own haunting experiences from fast food and retail to fuel content for the strip. A warning though: The archive binge is rather long. Like, really, really long.
95 Gallons, both a comic and a comment on society, has already finished it's run and no longer updates. It's about a scheming tiger barb and his quest to take over the peaceful community of a tropical aquarium. So go read it if you like politics or something, I dunno.
Tune in next time for MOAR WEBCOMICS.

LEPPU
Petra Erika Nordlund, (dA, Tumblr) who goes by Leppu (although people on the internet normally call her Lepa) is 22 years of age and studied graphic design at the University of Lapland, comics at Liminka school of Arts, however she is currently studying animation at Metropolia.
And that is all that I have to say! Go follow Leppu or read her webcomic here!
P.S. If you’re wondering what Leppu could possibly mean in Finnish, I suggest you check out this blog post!

Steve Jobs
Hey guys! Sergio here to inform you on a subject that isn't as boring as that horrible Facebook post that I wrote in 10 minutes. Anyway, here it goes...
Steve Jobs died on my birthday (yesterday) and of course the whole community was shocked. At first I thought it was just a joke, especially since Apple just announced their new iPhone. I thought people just took the advantage that Apple was getting some publicity and decided to misinform millions of people. This however, is true. As much as I cared about any Apple product (nothing, they all seem like over-priced silver rectangles to me) I guess this wasn't a shock to me. We knew he was sick and probably all thought of it at one point. What still seems strange to me was that he perished just two days after the iPhone 4S announcement! It seems strange that those events are too darn close, especially since Steve has been working on this type of stuff all of his life.

R.I.P. Steve Jobs (1955-2011)
As much of a pessimistic person as I am, I still like to find the good in most people. I mean, he did revolutionize the smart phone market. He created an image for his company that not many other companies can do. When people think of Apple, they think of iPod, iPhone, iOS, and Steve Jobs. Well it seems like Bill Gates has lost an old competitor (sigh). I don't really like Microsoft either, but that's my opinion. As much as I cared for Apple, Steve was a human being. He will be missed.

But all kidding aside, I'm sure all of you have come across at least some form of bad writing, or even more notorious, bad fanfiction. For those of you who don't know, fanfiction is fiction written about, and containing the characters/canon of, someone else's story, TV show, book, or whatever. Websites containing fanfiction include the most popular one, Fanfiction.net, as well as various other fansites and etc.
The main problem with most fanfiction on the internet, though, is that most of it's bad.
Like, really, really, really bad.
As TvTropes page on Sturgeon's Law says, "90% of everything is crud."
That's how bad it is.
Well, maybe I'm exaggerating. A little. Not too much. But fanfiction is notorious for containing all manner of abominations, such as Mary Sues, horrendous grammar, and lots and lots of yaoi. (If you don't know what that word means, don't look it up. Please.)
But, sometimes, a fanfiction ends up being so bad it becomes hilarious. Take, for example, the fanfiction "Pokemon attack of mewtwo" Granted, it was a troll fic, but it's worth reading in your spare time simply for a laugh, as the sheer amount of spelling mistakes and cliches make it kind of amazing.
...But then there's fanfiction so bad it loops around to good and then all the way back down to bad. Such as "My Immortal", possibly the worst Harry Potter fanfiction on the entire interwebs. Your Mileage May Vary on how amusing it is. (Note: The version linked here is a repost on Fanfiction.net by a different person. The original was actually kicked off the site due to how bad it was.)
Read at your own risk.

But hey, now I'd like to hear your opinions! What do you think of all this bad fanfiction? Should it be beaten back into the dark hole it came from? Or should we tolerate its existence for the sake of some lulz? Comment below!

Facebook adding a subscription fee?
Many Facebook users were surprised when their friends started posting a copy & paste message as their statuses saying that the website would start charging for its service. Many users were angered by this and threatened to stop using the website if they did this. The post was later stated as being false and Facebook released a comment for this post saying that Facebook is free and it always will be.
What most probably caused people to believe this rumor was that the website went under a major user interface update and might have caused some people to think that Facebook was going to become a paid subscription service due to the update. What surprised me most about this was that users threatened to move to other social sites such as Myspace and the newly established Google+. This proves that people can be as willing to change from one social network to another for reasons such as this.

It's Not What it is but Who it is
Over the past couple of years I have been admiring a particular artist I found on the internet. She can be found on deviantart by the username of Ruin-HCI, with a collection of commissioned chibis, her own original characters in Mori Girl and Lolita fashion, and other miscellaneous art. From what information she has given us in her journals, we can conclude that she is currently a college student who "loyally serves our chicken overlords".
There are even prettier artworks on her page that I unfortunately couldn't post, so I highly suggest you check her gallery out or follow her on deviantArt if you have an account!

This is part of some ref sheet I'll (hopefully) finish sooner or later, because people always tell me missusRuin is really difficult to draw lol.
